Trofeo 100 Laghi 2020
Italian Open 2020 edition takes place in Tizzano Val Parma, in the heart of most famous food valley in the world. The takeoff of Monte Caio is about 20 minutes by car from the village and the area around it, part of the nationl park Parco dei 100 Laghi, offers multiple outdoor activities.
The Flying Site
The takeoff from Monte Caio is only 50 km from the Tirrenian Sea and 30 km from the Padanian flatland. This localization offers challenging and variable conditions, rich of strong thermals and huge convergences wich give the chance to fly the whole Emilian Apennins range Flying over small hills or 2000 m mountains the playground offers many possible tasks; each one with various flyable ways. The site is holding from the last years the record for the longest flat triangle in the Italian Apennins.
Many collateral activities are available for pilot’s families and accompanists: swimming pool, mountain climb, bike tours, castles, restaurants and of course the Food Valley tour… to discover where and how is produced the food who everyone tasted at least once time in his life.

It’s possible reach the takeoff by car only with a Fly Card which the organization will give to all partecipants as soon as their status will be changed in “Confirmed”
During the competition only the organization will drive to the takeoff, to avoid too many cars in the ristricted Area.

Selection
Regular registration will be open until June 8, 2020.
All registrations made after this time will be considered "late registration".
Selection will start on June 8, 2020 and the final list will be published within June 11, 2020. Spots will be assigned to Italian pilots according to Italian Overall Ranking (reference date 31th October, 2019). Other pilots will be selected according to the FAI WPRS ranking system (reference date 1st June 2020).
- 60% of available spots are reserved to Italian pilots (until the second selection round). The selection will be made following the Italian Overall Ranking (reference date 31th October, 2019).
- 15 spots are reserved to female pilots (until the first selection round).
- 10 wild cards (to be assigned by the organizers and the Italian Team Leader)
- other available spots will be assign to foreign pilots
In case of equal rankings, priority will be given to the first pilot who made the registration.
Registration to the competition becomes effective only after the entry fee payment, which has to be done within 7 days from the confirmation date. Confirmation will be sent to pilots by email and published in the list of confirmed participants.
Pilots who won’t pay within the payment deadline, will be moved at the bottom of the selection list and their status will be changed in "waiting list".
Organizers have the right to not accept the registration of pilots considered not eligible or in case the compliance with legal requirements cannot be verified.
Entry Fee
ENTRY FEE
- Regular entry fee is 200 €
- If registration is made after June 8, 2020 or if payment is made after the established deadline, the entry fee is 230 €.

*Due the covid-19 emergency some non-essential services may be changed in favor of healt care services

Make sure that you pay ALL bank transfer charges. Make also sure that you send us your bank transfer form by email to montecaio.competizioni@gmail.com and don't forget to mention "your name & Italian Open 2020” as description of your transfer to allow us to track your payment.

REFUND POLICY
In case of no valid tasks, the organisation will return to any participant part of the entry fee. The amount will be defined on the basis of the expenses afforded by organizers.
If a pilot withdraws from the competition by July 15, 2020, the entire registration fee will be refunded, minus 30%, to cover organizational costs. The refund will be made at the end of the competition.
Cancellations from July 15, 2020 and until the start of the competition won't be refunded.
Prize fund and scoring categories
The Competition will assign the title of “ITALIAN CHAMPION 2020”, with a minimum of 1500 points.
The Competition will assign the title of “Trofeo dei 100 Laghi 2020 OPEN”, with a minimum of 1 (one) flown task.
The following rankings will be produced:
- Open Class – International
- Open Class – Italian Championship
- Female Category – International (with at list 5 participants)
- Female Category – Italian Championship
- Sport Class – International
- Sport Class – Italian Championship
OPEN Class:
Includes all the partecipants (up to CCC certified gliders)
SPORT Class
Includes all the partecipants, except pilots using:
- CCC (CIVL Competition Class) certified gliders;
- Any certified glider with Flat Aspect Ratio over 7.0;
Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to collect the prize.
We do not accept proxies. Prizes not claimed will remain at the organization.
